GelStain是一種靈敏、穩(wěn)定和相對(duì)安全的熒光核酸染色試劑。它可以替代高毒性染色劑－溴化乙錠(EB)，用于瓊脂糖凝膠或聚丙烯酰胺凝膠中dsDNA、ssDNA和RNA的染色。GelStain的靈敏度遠(yuǎn)高于EB，并且不需要脫色。GelStain和EB有相同的光譜特性。
特點(diǎn)：
? 無(wú)毒性：GelStain獨(dú)特的油性和大分子特點(diǎn)使其不能穿透細(xì)胞膜進(jìn)入細(xì)胞內(nèi)，艾姆斯氏實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果也表明，該染料的誘變性遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)小于EB。
? 靈敏度高：適用于不同大小的片段電泳染色，對(duì)核酸遷移率的影響小于SYBR Green I。
? 穩(wěn)定性高：適用于使用微波或其它加熱方法制備瓊脂糖凝膠；室溫下在酸性、堿性環(huán)境下極其穩(wěn)定，耐光性強(qiáng)。
? 信噪比高：樣品熒光信號(hào)強(qiáng)，背景信號(hào)低。
? 操作簡(jiǎn)單：與EB一樣，在預(yù)制膠和電泳過(guò)程中染料不降解；而電泳后染色過(guò)程也只需30分鐘且無(wú)需脫色或沖洗，即可直接用紫外凝膠透射儀觀察。
? 適用范圍廣：可選擇電泳前染色（膠染法）或電泳后染色（泡染法）；適用于瓊脂糖凝膠或聚丙烯酰胺凝膠電泳；可用于dsDNA、ssDNA或RNA染色。
? 無(wú)需改變?yōu)V光片及觀察裝置：標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的EB濾光片或SYBR濾光片都適用，使用與觀察EB染色相同的普通紫外凝膠透射儀觀察即可，在300 nm紫外光附近可得到最佳激發(fā)。
